A fourth schedules and distributes content. A human only reviews final output and makes strategic decisions. The entire system runs with minimal daily oversight.

The same pattern is appearing in customer support, operations, sales, research, and product development. Companies are not just using AI as a tool. They are using it as team members.

But there are real limitations. AI agents struggle with context and nuance, especially in emotionally charged situations. True originality still requires human input. When something goes wrong, someone has to take responsibility. Agents are better at execution than vision.

This is why the most successful companies are not fully replacing humans. They are creating hybrid teams where AI handles volume and speed, while humans handle judgment and relationships. The organizations getting the best results treat their digital workforce as an extension of their human team, not a replacement.

Tesla has capped employee spending on third-party AI tools at $200 per week, effective July 6. Some software engineers were spending thousands of dollars weekly on AI tokens. The cap applies to Anthropic's Claude, OpenAI's ChatGPT, and Google's models. Beta products from xAI, the AI company Elon Musk also runs, are exempt from the cap. Four people told Electrek that Tesla engineers broadly prefer Claude over Grok despite the internal push toward xAI tools.

The first session of the UN Global Dialogue on AI Governance opens today (July 6-7) at Palexpo in Geneva. All 193 UN member states are attending. A scientific panel warns that AI agent systems have no technical guarantee of safe behavior, and that two nations control roughly 90% of global compute capacity. The dialogue runs alongside the ITU AI for Good Global Summit (July 7-10), bringing 11,000 participants from 169 countries. The AI for Good Global Commission, including Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang and Amazon CEO Andy Jassy, holds its first meeting July 8.

Bending Spoons, the company behind AOL, Vimeo, and Eventbrite, reported that revenue per full-time employee rose from $1.12 million in 2023 to $2.57 million in 2025, "in part helped by progress in AI." The company acquired 1,830 employees through three acquisitions but has already "parted ways" with many and expects "only a few hundred to remain" once transformations are complete. Bending Spoons went public with an $18 billion valuation. Its model: acquire companies, integrate AI and centralized systems, reduce headcount, increase output per person.
