Before you add more agents, add a handoff.

Hey builders,
This week, Microsoft Research open-sourced Agensh →, a research harness where coding agents claim tasks, share findings, check work and merge progress without a central manager. It is built for serious experiments, not a casual first install.
Your build: make a Three-Role Handoff Card ↓ before more people—or AI tools—touch a task. It works on paper; no AI account, code or paid model is needed.
📦 From Our Partners
3,000+ AI tools. 1000+ prompts. All from one newsletter.
Most AI resources are scattered, untested, or buried behind a paywall.
The Shift puts it all in one free newsletter, covering what’s new, and what practically works under 5 minutes a day.
A vault of 3,000+ vetted tools so you’re never guessing. A 1000+ prompt library for every use case you’ll actually hit and free AI courses that make sure nothing stays theoretical.
Plus, right now, 3 subscribers win a free 1-year Claude Pro subscription just for signing up.
285 Free Prompts to Save Time
Your inbox isn't the problem. Neither are your meetings. It's the hours you spend on work AI could do in minutes.
285 copy-paste prompts: built for email, meetings, admin, and delegation. Each one has a clear role, a specific task, and a defined output.
No setup. No prompt engineering. Just copy, paste, and get your time back. Free when you subscribe to Mindstream.
🎯 TODAY'S MISSION
Turn one small, safe task into a clear pass between three roles: Scout finds evidence, Maker shapes it, and Checker compares it against the goal.
Why this now? Agensh’s authors report teams sharing a workspace, messages and a context board; its public reproduction guide also calls for Linux, Docker, Python 3.11+, Copilot ACP sessions, model access and a six-hour default task budget. That makes its code a useful research read—not this issue’s required build.
⚡ BUILD IN 10 MINUTES

A handoff is clearer when finding, making and checking are separate jobs.
Use paper or any note app. Choose an invented or public task, such as “summarize two official event pages.”
Write one result you can check: “three linked facts, with dates.”
Give Scout only the sources to inspect and a “do not guess” rule.
Give Maker the required format and tell them to keep source links.
Give Checker one job: mark it ready, revise, or stop.
Add a stop rule: private data, logins, money, publishing or messages need a responsible person.
Success looks like: another person can tell what to find, make and check without filling in the gaps themselves.
🔌 API OF THE WEEK
GitHub’s “Get a repository” endpoint → returns public facts about a project in a computer-readable format. For a simple look at this week’s example, the request is:
GET https://api.github.com/repos/microsoft/Agensh
You can open that address in a browser—no code or account required for public data. GitHub says unauthenticated public REST requests are limited to 60 per hour per originating IP address →. Do not add a personal token for this exercise.
📋 THE COPY KIT
Copy this into a note or a chat tool. Use only public, invented or approved non-sensitive material.
THREE-ROLE HANDOFF
Task outcome: [one checkable result]
Safe inputs: [public / invented / approved material only]
SCOUT: Find [named sources or facts]. Return links and dates. Do not guess.
MAKER: Turn only that evidence into [format]. Keep sources and open questions.
CHECKER: Compare against [success rule]. Reply READY, REVISE, or STOP + reason.
Stop rule: Pause for a human if private data, a login, money, publishing,
deleting, sending a message, or a consequential decision appears.🧰 TOOLS YOU NEED

A note app or paper — required; free and no account needed.
The Handoff Card → — the reusable version; free, no signup.
A chat tool — optional. Any account, price and privacy rules belong to the tool you choose; the card still works without one.
Agensh’s repository → — optional reading. Its MIT-licensed code is public, but its published experiment setup is not a beginner/no-cost workflow.
🚀 MAKE IT BETTER
Add one line called evidence we trust. Name the official page, document or person that must support the final answer. Then add still unknown. That tiny gap keeps a neat draft from pretending it knows more than it does..
🎯THE AI CHALLENGE
Try the card on an invented workshop plan or public article—not a work account.
Your challenge is complete when the Checker can explain one reason to revise or stop. Reply with the role that saved you the most confusion: Scout, Maker or Checker.
